I’m sure there’s some sort of biochemical rationale as to why I become short-of-breath giddy when looking at the work of Silence Television (comprised of the illustration and prints by Gianmarco Magnani). Maybe it’s the motorcycles, maybe it’s the minimalistic monochromatic tones he uses… I don’t know, but my crush is official.
Futuristic MotoGP-style hovercrafts, exploding VW bugs, a lone flat-frame scooter, and what (in my imagination) is a subtle shoutout to Little Alex’s Fuzzy Warbles obsession with Ludwig Van (officially, and eloquently, titled ‘Lightning at the Opera‘ by Magnani himself) with the slightest twist of David Bowie à la Ziggy Stardust- suffice it to say that my cup runneth over with delight!
Of course, as with all crushes, my rambling rationale is but a product of my own mind. But, then again, Silence TV speaks for itself.
